In Phandalin having a pint at Stonehill Inn, we meet back up with Hue. We catch up on what has happened with the both of us. While we drinka miner named Lanar comes into the Inn and starts to talk about a bunch of orcs that are attacking people near Triboar trail.
The barkeep Torblin tells us about the Red Brand thugs that are shaking down the merchants for money. One man Thindal stood up to the thugs and they murdered him. It seems this town has a bit of work for us. With the Inn being out of rooms we seek out Qelline at the Alderleaf farm. She allows travelers to stay in the barn’s hay loft if they are willing to help out around the farm.
After speaking to Qelline we head to the Sleeping Giant to investigate the thugs. We walk by the two thugs at the door and head into the tavern. Once inside a man starts to yelling at us saying that we don’t belong here and should leave. A fight is incoming.
Zhethog casts a spell and quickly puts two of them to sleep. The others don not make it alive out of the fight. One does manage to run out the door to escape but he is quickly caught. Once the two that were asleep wake up we take them to the town master Harbin.
At first he is worried that we may have caused more trouble for the town, but when we tell him whatare intent is he he seems to relax a bit and glad we have come to Phandalin. The thugs supposedly hang out at a manor house and Hue knows a back way into it.
Trying the quiet appoarch we move into the manor, but I myself could never be as quiet as Hue and we alert some thugs as soon as we enter. In a lisstern I spot what seems to be a rope. It is tied off the the other end goes down into the water. Pulling it up there is a sack attached to the other end. I also spot a hidden door.
The hidden door leads into a carvern type area. And inside my mind I hear a voice. I ask who is this and let them know we are here to destroy the thugs. The creature wants us to find the “bad ones” and get rid of them.
Heading down a hallway there is a door that we enter after hearing some goblin sounding langauges. Inside we find a goblin and three bugbears. After killing the bugbears the goblin, named Droop tells us more about what is going on down here and that he and the bugbears work for someone called Glasstaff.
Moving on we enter a room with some humans playing a game. We engage them and put an end to their thugery. Going on to find the wizard we search more of the underground complex. Entering the wizard’s room, it seems that he fled though some secert passages. Following though many doors we come into what appears to be a crypt. As we enter some skeletons animate and attack us.
After the battle with the skeletons we continue on though the passages and it hooks back up with the area that we first came into when we entered the manor. It seems that the wizard has escaped us, for now.
