The next morning we all meet back at the Townmaster Hall to find Sildar has taken control of Phandlin as Town Master and has sent Wester packing. Westen says he is going moving to Neverwinter to become a banker. As Wester leaves, I tell him ill look him up in Neverwinter. Maybe some day we can do business again.
Sildar honors the agreement we had to eliminate the Red Brand. And asked if we would take care of an orc raiding party that has terrorizing travelers on the Triboar Trail.
On our way out of town Garaele, a priestess of Tymora goddess of luck, approached Gor-Rok. She asks if he would travel north to Conyberry to confront a banshee and get any information on a spell book of Bo Gentle. He is to present a jeweled comb as an offering. In return for the information, the priestess will reward us with 4 healing potions.
On our 2nd night, as we are setting up camp, we are attacked by an Owl Bear. Gor-Rok and Myastan engaged it in melee as I filled it with arrow until its death. On the 3rd day we find a train leading north that lead us to a domed dwelling. As we enter a ghastly form appears. This must be the banshee we are looking for. She threatens us, but Gor-Rok defuses the threat by offering an item of the banshees past, the jeweled comb. In exchange she offers us one question. Gor-Rok asks about the spell book and she tells him she traded it to Tserth from Liviaebar 100 years ago.
As we continued to investigate the area, trying to find the orc raiding party, we find a colorful tent pitched within Old Owl Well ruins. The surrounding area smells of death. Before we can get close to the tent. A group of shambling human zombies pour out of a broken watch tower and surround the outside of the tent. I hide within the ruins waiting to get a surprise attack. Gor-Rok engages one of the zombies, but before we deep into battle, a necromancer emerges from the tent and calls off the zombies. We hold off destroying his zombie as we ask him if he has seen orcs in this area. He identifies himself as Hamand cost of Thay, and points us in the direction of some nearby caves. He also tells us they have a party of 7 and an Ogre.
We approach the cave and notice one century on watch. I sneak up to get within range of my bow. The orc has no idea he is being snipped, as I release an arrow into him. Before he can warn his party of our presence, Myastan releases an arrow of his own. Delivering the killing blow. We get to the mouth of the cave unnoticed. With surprise on our side Zhethog reads a magic scroll that sends a fireball into the cave, destroying 6 of the orc’s and damaging the Ogre. The remaining orc and Ogre run to engage us at the front of the cave, only to meet their death. Gor-Rok and I take care of the ogre and Myastan and Zhethog finish the remaining orc.
On our way back to Phandlin, we stop by to visit Hamand the necromancer. He tells us the ruin tower was build by a powerful ruler named Arthando. Zhethog and him have meeting and exchange spells from their tombs of spells.
Our travels back to the Phandlin are uneventful and with out incident. We visit Sildar for our reward and to see if he has made any progress in brining this town back to a respectable community. I find that are no rooms in the Stonehill Inn. So I make arrangements to stay in famer Alderleaf’s barn. We plan on heading to Thundertree to meet a Druid with information on the location of where Gundren may be held. I ask Halia if she has any deliveries that need to be made to Neverwinter. Knowing we are going to be close to there when we travel north to Thundertree.
